HI!
What a nice entry!
Tell me we're not the only two knitters on h2g2...

Gosh I hope we're not! I spin too, maybe I'm the only spinner?!?!? How long have you been knitting?

Since I was old enough to wind the thickest wool around the thickest needles, but on and off depending upon school/study/work etc. I spent three years manning a quiet tourist information office, and managed to knit enough to clothe a small army!
I do miss it when I don't have time...
never tried spinning but always thought it looks nice and satisying: I assume you requirte a whole new set of callouses?

Been several months since I was in here! Spinning is definitely satisfying, in a very Zen way. And you don't get any callouses at all! Although after a full day of spinning the skin on the pads of the forefinger and thumb feels a little numb. I highly recommend spinning as stress relief, especially if you can't get to a masseur.

Finally - other knitters! . A place where I am not derided for enjoying my wonderous pastime!! I'm now known as Mummy's Little Spinster , due to my apparent terminal singleness, and my new-found love of knitting. I find it so relaxing - something I need right now - but would love for you to tell me some more about spinning, like where to start, as it seems so complicated.

Nice to see a Clotho and a Lachesis . Let's hope there is no Nemesis hanging round.
Could possibly do without Arachne too

Not enough legs alas....
My only weaving friend has sold her loom due to lack of space, so no joy there...
