If we drop about 6 hours every year how come we don't end up seeing the sun at midnight? It would only make sense like this year or '02.
Somebody tell me why am I wrong!

A day is just the time it takes for Earth to turn once on its axis.
A year is the time it takes for Earth to orbit the sun once. When you celebrate New Years Day, Earth has not quite gone around the sun. Now, rather than setting all the clocks back 6 hours every year and screwing up everybody's schedule, it was decided to simply save up those extra hours and stick an extra day on to February every four years.
