A Conversation for Sir Henry Morgan - The Pirate King
Pirates in ... Texas?

Texas usually brings to mind cowboys, but if you check the map, it has a seacoast, and that means ... pirates!!
In particular, at one time Jean Lafitte (spelling varies) pretty much ran the island of Galveston (about 30 miles from where I live).

Galveston is still a nautical place, with the tall ship Elissa docked there:

And from the "Tell Us a Joke" forum:
A pirate walks into a bar with a ship's wheel stuck down in his pants. When the bartender asks, he says, "Arrr, it drives me nuts!"

Like the joke, I was going to write a bit ab Jean Lafitte but after writing the entries on the seven pirates that are there I was a bit exhausted! Maybe I'll do something on him another day as he does deserve an entry!

Yes, next time ... I understand all those articles took a lot of work, thanks. But a FRENCH pirate ... in Texas ... gotta have one.

Incidentally, Henry Morgans mansion house is still standing in Llanrumney, Cardiff - it is now a pub. I suppose one goes inside and says yohoho and a bottle of rum, please landlord.
