You wanted people to talk to you, so hell
What is your degree, if it's not anything to do with physics, chemistry, biology or C16 & C17 history?

Hi, yes I'm training as a jeweller. That is, I'm doing a BA in silversmithing, goldsmithing and jewellery design, so apart from the odd wonder into the renaissance which we have got out of the way, and the bit about metal alloys we had way back when, I am doing not a lot to do with my A-levels.
I'm very well Lord Kelvin, hope your not so bored anymore. My question is, how can you get bored on h2g2 anyway?

So that's what it is. A friend of mine is a registered master goldsmith. He now works as a lab technician at in the electronics dept at Kings College London.

It's just one of those things, you know. After two years at gorping at cloud chamber photos and various cosmic images I began to think, "hmmm, I could make a pendent/pair of earrings/ring etc out of that." I suppose after a while of masterly goldsmithing your friend thought, "blow this for a lark, I'm going to do something else." (That is, after sawing through his finger for the umpteenth time).

Hi there Brain,
I just wanted to add my "hello" to all the other "hello"s you've collected, and to say that I really sympathise with what you were saying in your intro about how you'd celebrate if you could get a link to work.
Three months ago that was how I felt. The first time I DID succeed in adding links and headers to my page, I was so excited that I wrote a Journal Entry headed "Old dog in 'new trick' shock!". But I've come a fair way since then, and if I could do it then I'm sure you can.
One very handy tip: if you haven't done so already, pay a visit to Bruce's GuideML Clinic. http://www.h2g2.com/A187229 is the place to go, and there you'll find a lot of neat tricks made very easy. I'm still learning, but the tricks I learned there did wonders for my page.
Good luck, anyway!
