If you want to add one to a post, you should see a clickable table of some of the most common ones (and a link to the main smiley index) under the box in which you type your text. Clicking on the image will then make the code for it appear in the textbox.

You may want to memorise how to type your favourite ones to save looking for them. The basic ones mostly have the same text shortcuts as they did when they were invented over two decades ago. However, all of them also have a name which you can put into angle brackets, eg < biggrin > (without intervening spaces) to make them appear. Remember to use preview to check you have typed the code correctly.

I would have thought the account was a little new for that (eg odd to learn of skins before smileys!). The exceptional circumstance which I was expecting to hear back from the user themselves, if anything at all, was more along TiT's lines, viz being a digibox user or something.

Well, I changed the skin before I had heard of smileys, so I would guess others could do just as well.

Yes, if I recall it correctly, I changed it on the second day or so. Apart from the fact that the first posting doesn't tell you anything about the time a person has spoent ing the site.

Stick to Brunel and just read your ACE's welcome, it has most of the answers in there.... except for the question to the answer of 42

But the answer is in there somewhere!

Here's a smiley:

Hover your mouse over it & you will get a little box appear that tells you the pic is of a mouse. On either side of the word mouse you will need to put arrow things. So, to get your very own mouse pic type in

then the word mouse, don't leave a space, make sure you spell it right & use lower case letters.

then type in the arrow which goes in the opposite direction, again, right next to the word.

Before you post the message, click on preview to see if the pic has appeared, if not, try again, if it has, with luck your posting will resemble a rodent paradise. So then you can click on Post Message.
