Where have they come from??
Feisor - -0- Generix I made it back - sortof ... Started conversation Jan 3, 2007
There are HEAPS of newbies who have signed on in the last 24 hours - I have cleared a couple of pages but have got a migraine coming on (vision is starting to blur) and have to go.
There are still about 4-5 pages to go so, if anyone can spare the time to do a few that would ne great.
I'm off to bed with some "mothers little helpers" - night all.
See you tomorrow.

Don't welcome ber68iba8 - I've yikesed them as the links they give are to a porn site. The person before them was linking to the same site. Looks like we've been infiltrated.

It's so weird, I had a look last night, because there was somebody jaz'd yikesed (for the same reasons), but was too tired then to ace any newbies - but the names I see today weren't on the list last night.

There was someone I welcomed a little while ago whose entries were under moderation - probably the same thing.
I think we crossed over, Bel! Well, the list is clear now anyway.

Good detective work !
So, are we supposed to Ace this lot or not? At the moment we seem to be being used merely as a place to chat about This Life; but since the BBC itself put the link to h2g2 prominently on their other page, i assume they approve of this little invasion & want us to encourage them to get involved?

They've signed up - I think it's appropriate to let them know what they've signed up for.

OK, i've just done one, I'll do a few more. Easiest way is to go to the convos on the This Life page on here & grab the ones who are chatting.

Jim, the newbie page is still very weird, are you sure it really only shows those who've signed up with us?

But why would anybody sign up with h2g2, then go and do all his posts on food, or lifestyle, or science etc?
Where have they come from??

Maybe 'cos that's where they were directed to hootoo from; ie their main interest is there, but they thought "what the hell, i'll sign up for this as well!"
Could be that quite a few newbies of this sort might lurk Guide Entries /Front page, do general search stuff also & only then get involved later.
Anyway, the recent This life lot seem to have been Aced now, let's see if any of them reply!
