Okay, so, the Baby Boomers are pretty well stuck with their name.
Generation X is probably going to stick too for that group.
Following them it gets tricky. Some people call them Generation Y. Some people call them the Screenagers. I much prefer the term Screenagers. It makes a lot of sense as the first generation that grew up with not only Television, but also with Computers as a constant presence in life.
The next Generation needs a name, though. And the big contenders should start pushing now.
I want the generation after mine to either be known as "The Thunderlizards" or "Team Mongoose." I can't decide. Which do you think would be the better name for the successors to the Screenagers?

Difficult. Why lizards? And what does Mongoose mean. I'm not following the language of the young - and then in English/American...
Screenagers. Never heard it before - but very apt.
In Denmark I have seen both Generation X and ditto Y - Y is prevalent for the time being, but I'm not sure who precisely the names refer to.

I'd rather not name them until a bit later, actually. I mean, did the Greatest Generation come into the world with that name? No, they earned it.

I think I rather like Chuck, myself ... hang on, I've sort of lost track, which generation am I in?

Rare Ark (are you Yar Kramer anagrammed for Halloween? Ah, well...) that depends on your age, what your culture continent is, and to a lesser extent what physical location you live at.
If you're Yar as I think you are, then you'd be a Screenager like me, unless I'm vastly uncertain about your age.
tartaronne, a mongoose is a type of animal. I'm a little sketchy on exactly what makes it what it is, but I've heard that they fight and kill snakes in India and/or Asia. That's based on second-hand information from long, long ago, though, so I'd want to do some research before I stake my life to that claim.
Well, you can call the generation after mine Chuck if you'd like. I'm sticking with The Thunderlizards...or Team Mongoose. Still not sure which.

The current lot (born after 1985) do have a name. They are known as the "Thumb Generation". Google it and you'll see!

Yeah. I'm 23, an American who currently lives in New Hampshire, although I'm fond of saying that my sense of humor was raised on Monty Python, grew up with Douglas Adams, has peaked with Terry Pratchett, and at one point sort of sauntered vaguely upward with Neil Gaiman.
(I am also therefore aware, for instance, that "irony" does not mean "coincidence and/or misfortune." )

Affy, you're right on Mongeese. Mongooses? Or at least I have heard the same thing from reading Rudyard Kipling.
