I found the title of this to be somewhat confusing; I had little idea of what it was going to be about until I read it.
Suggest a change to:
The Early Defence of Hobart, Ausralia.
Also is this intended to be the first part of a series? If so, then call it
The Early Defence of Hobart, Ausralia. (1)Battery Point

Well, I think it needs to say what sort of defence. I'm searching for a word like 'Coastal', but I'm not sure that this is quite correct.
'Estuary Defence doesn't ring quite right...

Also, the title needs to include Tasmania.... s'thing like:
Early Estuarine Defence; Hobart, Tasmania.
Also, your Entry needs to start by saying s'thing about the Geography and (history) of Hobart (Tasmania), and why it needed to defend its estuary. What did it need to defend against?

I was intrigued by the Russians/Crimean war reference at the end.
Did the Russians really try and invade Tasmania? It's a long way from the Crimean peninsula...

All the Australian colonies were paranoid about Russian invasion; there's a couple of forts on the coast at Adelaide, designed in the 1850's to scare the Russians away.
It must have worked.
Ivan.
