American Grand Prix

O.K I'm starting earlier than usual as whilst I had resigned my self to the fact that qualifying was not going to be shown live I did not expect it to be shown at 11.55! I am now seriously starting to doubt ITV's commitment and if I had more will power I'd not watch it out of principle...
But I would like to add that Jenson is currently quicker than Hakkinen and the Ferraris are quickest

I know and Jenson was quicker than Hakkinen
The only thing that's going to happen now is that fewer people will watch the qualifying as it's on at a time when people will either be out or sleeping and every true f1 fan who would stay up will already know the result. Likewise with tomorrows race I'm going to know who won (Schumacher!) before it's broadcast here.
The TV people don't seem to realise the neccessity to watch the races live, it's such a pivatol race as well and I am so cross about being forced to miss it. I mean they truely can't expect nobody to care when about 4million people stay up til 3am in order to watch the finalrace and every fortnight another 4million people on the UK watch the races. It's absurd the broadcasting figures are only beaten by the World Cup and that occurs every four years not every fortnight, thorughout the world it even has more viewers than the Olympics and that's broadcast almost constantly on BBC. I really don't see why they couldn't just have Heartbeat or Coranation Street on half an hour earlier they do that all the time with football...
*realises she's ranting so has a to calm herself down*
Hmmmph...do you know if it'll still be on the Radio anywhere live or am I going to have to resort to reading the commentary on a website somewhere?

I would imagine it'll be on Radio Five Live, they usually cover the races live. Mind you, so do ITV.
BTW, you might like to know that I had a premonition last night - I dreamt that Hakkinen won the race.

Ummm EV can I remind you that you're a Coulthard fan? As in the bloke who Hakkinen will need to beat in order to become a winner? As in the bloke who will be asked to move over to let Hakkinen through? Hmmmm
Anyway the official worst has happened, planet F1 is broke and the live commentary is no longer working...GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Need to know what's happening!!! Orange mobile service now only tells you about Arrows and my credit is too low to ring people at the circuit but I can't go to the shop to get some more as then I'd have to move away from teletext and then, ITV will get my letter of complaint...GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Well, I don't want to spoil it for anyone who's watching the qualifying now, but I also had a premonition about that and it was wrong.
I don't know what's happening with Coulthard... I read during the week that he'd been told to let Hakkinen win, but now Ron Dennis is denying that. Mind you, I don't trust RD as far as I could throw him, which isn't very far at all.

I don't see that they have any excuse not to show the race live. They always show the Canadian GP live and have done for the past four years.

ITV just didn't want to interrupt their SAturday night schedule which to be fair is crap anyway

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Sorry, I'm still v.cross with ITV as in order to find out what's happening I'm going to have to go and buy a new phone card and the only way to do that is spend half an hour walking through the thunderstorm...I can't believe that they're not showing it live and they didn't even bother to apologise for it last night, just sat looking smug and remarking on what a historic and vital occasion it was! The hypocrits

I didn't realise there was any on today as I was too busy trying to find a website which showed the Grand Prix but was it the night race from last weekend? Interesting spin with Reid being knocked off by Rydell but it let Menu take his second championship so I was happy as he's a very nice bloke...well happy apart from the fact that I didn't get to go this year and Jenson Button was in the pits all day

*doesn't mention the Grand Prix*

There was an interesting moment when Tarquinie (however you spell it) made somone spin at the entrance to a corner. They then took the short way across the corner backwards and hit Tarquinie as he left the corner. Taking him out of the race.

Yeah that was Anthony Reid, it was a shame because he's a nice bloke too, he queued up next to me last year to buy a sandwich which I thought was nice as he could've quite easily pushed in front of me
*congratulates EV for not mentioning the race*
