A, B, C, D, can I bring my friend to tea, E, F, G H I J I love you... *sung to no-one in particular*
Hmm. Someone's noticed I sing in the car Tall beanpole like being in the glasses? If so, then yep, though I've only been in The Millhouses twice (tonight, as it happens).

I'm worried that someone's recognised me. I've managed to miss all researcher meet-ups so far. I wonder if the time has come for the man and the myth to meet...

Most certainly. I had toyed with going to EV's tomorrow, despite the distance from home. I have the time but not the money now And the one in Portsmouth never seemed to get organised (or, at least, not while I was down there). Perhaps there'll be one in the North or the Midlands somewhere before long

We could have an Oxford one... if we do it soon we could go punting, I have a £5 for 4 hours punt thing from my college [that's half of what it normally costs for 1 hour and no deposit required]

Ha you're still here, honestly you're very tough to find Cakewalker!
I don't suppose you have a ponytail do you? I'm beginning to get quite worried incase you're the person I think you are...hang on decider here, have you recently say... 41 days ago got engaged?
*stands by door and gets ready to run away very quickly*
Oh and by the way, if you've only been in Millhouses twice, how about the Old Harrow and you don't have to worry about a researcher meet up because you're the only other person I've found who lives round here and that would be a fairly minimal researcher gathering...also if I did that the illusion of me being a real live fairy would be shattered
Hey
Cakewalker Posted Aug 5, 2000
No, don't run... I don't have a ponytail and am not engaged to anyone. I do know of another few researchers in Sheffield. Also the sister of a friend works behind the bar at The Millhouses. The last time I was there was last Tuesday. Have to admit I don't know anything about the Old Harrow, unless it's up on Ecclesall Road. Do you work in The Millhouses or are you a regular? What do real life sprites, pixies, faries etc. drink?
Hey
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Aug 6, 2000
That was a close one I thought I was going to have to leg it then...hang on, you're not at Oxford Uni are you? Just checking because that would be equally scary
The Old Harrow's up in Gleadless so thats probably why you dont know it...I'm useless at Street names but is Ecclesall road the one with the Rat and Parrot on it? or is it the one with Yates? I can never remember no matter how many times I g
Anyway, I'm not a regular at the Millhouses I just go in there sometimes because its near to one of my mates houses...Quite sadly I now realise I don't have a regular pub because it used to be the Brit/British Oak but then I kept getting in the middle of fights by accident so I left that...errr, I go to Fox House quite often but that's only because it's a handy place to stop when you're out walking
Hmmm, sprites are eveil so fairies tend not to associate with them but generally we drink anything (oh wait thought of one The Globe that'd count ) except Bitter but we tend to be quite partial to sweet stuff like Metz and to my shame Cider
What do Cakewalkers drink then?
Hey
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Aug 6, 2000
Thanks I think...er I assume that was a Metz...can't actually tell as I was never able to find the page with the drinks on it...still with something so important you'd think after a month here I'd have made an effort to find out wouldn't you

I think tea is supposed to go with cake, but this one prefers real ales. Or cider. Or Kronenburg. Or Drumroll (of course).
I think The Druids is the best for walking, though that's assuming you've hiked you're way across Derbyshire in November to get there. The food's fantastic - hearty is an understatement I've only been there with family, though, so have yet to sample the beer. I've not been inside Fox House yet.
Lets see, Ecclesall Road is the one that starts at Wards Brewery and goes on pretty much to Hathersage and beyond. I think that's the best way I can think to describe it (though that does read as though Castleton's in a different dimension. 'They were intrepid travellers, exploring the unchartered territories of Hathersage and Beyond'. Sorry, I'm rambling...) (about rambling) Highlights I think include The Rat and Parrot, erm, Whirlowdale, Fox House and Yvonne's. I think I know where The Old Harrow is, but I don't know any of the road names round there either. My local's The Castle, but I'm certainly not a regular, partly because the proprietor goes round singing.
I was at Portsmouth Uni, but am doing a year in practice (architectural practice). I take it you know someone at Oxford. Wonder if they've come across Aendr there.

Hmmm, O.K... so no tea then that's alright
So is the Druids (which I've never heard of by the way) good only in November, only after you've been walking or I'll only know it if I've been walking? I get confused very easily, sorry Hmmm, where in Derbyshire is it? I'm going walking on Wednesday so if it's anywhere near where I'm going I might go in...
Castleton? Now you have me confused, how does Ecclesall road end up there? Oh well, the Cheddar Cheese that's good too but scarilly I've only been there after hiking across the Peaks in December (in the fog and snow, got lost up above Derwent reservoir of all places which you'd have thought was practically impossible but ho-hum)...
Oh oh 2 minutes before Bt collapses around my head, gaaa
rat and parrott, is very good curly chips are the best anyway round here,
If anyone has met my 'mate' I feel very sorry for them but that's just from personal experience, going to have to go, byeeeeee

The Druids is good all the time, but I suspect it's best after a long hike in winter. I say suspect - I've never been for a long hike in winter, it just seems to be the case going by the rows of walking boots lined up outside on the two occasions that I've been. I wouldn't be able to say how to get to it It's definitely in Derbyshire, though. Whereabouts do you normally go to walk?
I guess you could get lost easily at Derwent. All the trees look the same. Also I don't know where Ecclesall Road stops being Ecclesall Road, but it does go on a long way Almost past Derwent, in fact. Though Manchester Road is closer.
