I'm not really here

smiley - cross

Something doesn't want me to have any music when I'm travelling. smiley - steam Last year the Bambi's stereo system was so rubbish that I couldn't use it. Then I replaced the speakers, and it was still rubbish. So I replaced the stereo itself. And it was *still* rubbish. So over the winter I had a professional company look at it. They replaced the speakers (again) and finally it sounds great. So yesterday I charged up my mp3 player, had a quick listen with my fab new headphones, and just this minute I plugged it into the pc to make sure it had my most uptodate music on it...

and it won't switch on.

Gnomon - time to move on

It sounds as if you didn't actually charge it yesterday. Did it show in any way that it was charging?

I'm not really here

No, which I thought was odd, it showed it was plugged in though. When I unplugged it, it showed a full battery symbol - it had previously been mostly empty.

I've plugged it in again now, in the hope that something did go wrong in the charging process and it drained overnight. It's a bit frustrating, all my tapes are so old now. Good music, but I wanted the larger collection, without having to take loads of tapes and fiddling about keep changing them. We've got around 6 hours of driving to do tomorrow.

I'm not really here

Seven years I've been here. Seven. And I always wondered how people were so daft as to post here. Well, now I know. Hmpf.

Post 8

I'm not really here

In my annoyance, I scrolled down Brunel, and clicked on the wrong link because I hadn't scrolled down far enough. I've 'nearly' done it a few times, this time my blind rage at not being able to sing karaoke-style all the way down the M3 to anything later than 1992 house music clearly stopped my thinking processes.

B'el is right, it's still in my bleeding message centre. smiley - doh

I've had smiley - choc so I feel a bit calmer now. I'm not going to try it again for a while, as we're now trying to get the borrowed satnav to work, and that's frustrating as well! I did try to fob it off on J to deal with, which isn't quite working out.

Shame you don't know German, I have a very funny piece about satnavs on my PC which I could send you to cheer you up. It makes me smiley - rofl whenever I listen to it.

I'm not really here

I've always refused to have one, because they simply aren't intelligent enough. I've just fiddled with it, and input the place we're going, and rather than take me on the motorway, it wants me to go towards London on the dual carriageway - that has lots of traffic lights - and that's despite me saying 'fastest route'. Tch. But we're really taking it to give J something to do. Unfortuantely it won't work without the key in the ignition, so he can't programme it ahead of time. Hopefully he can do it when we go out in the car later on today.

Translate the funny stuff. smiley - winkeye

Translate it smiley - yikes
It's from a comedy show, you really would have to listen to it. The comedian is a Bavarian Turk, which makes for a very funny accent (well, the Bavarian accent is always funny). smiley - biggrin

The way to use a satnav is to ignore it when it gives the wrong directions.smiley - winkeye

I will do my best, although the thought of 'turn around when possible' for miles makes me think it may not be such a peaceful drive!

On the other hand, I rang Phillips, and they got my mp3 player back on. The day looks much brighter!
