I just discovered the coolest thing ever about footnotes on h2g2. First of all, I always totally hated reading them, you know, 'cause I'd have to scroll down to the bottom, then back again, and lose my place in the Entry. A while back I figured out that I can just click on them and it would automatically pop down the bottom, and even better, you click again and it takes you back exactly to the place you stopped. Well, yesterday I found out that if you just set the arrow on the little blue number, a little thing would appear right there with the footnote, so you don't have to go down to the bottom at all!!
Yes, I've been so bored lately that this sort of thing excites me.

Not like I didn't realize that within my first week of joining.
Then again, it took positively months before I realized that the little eyes next to someone's name mean they're online.

I learnt about the footnotes in some unpleasant discussion about the removal of them a year or so ago.

Have either of you read the Footnote entry A9579144?
Having been around when the online eyes first came about, I couldn't miss the buggers. Most disconcerting. One of the many reasons I use Plain skin.
