I use glue traps and then euthanize quickly. I've tried about six different kinds of traps, and the mouse outsmarted all but the glue traps. Except for one mouse that escaped form a glue trap, leaving a tuft of hair on it. It later got caught -- I could tell from the missing hair.

I once observed the flying mouse trick.

It went over the bar side of the mouse trap and got launched. Flew for about 2 meters.

I used to have buckets of rain water that I used to flush the toilet.

I sometimes saw dead mice -- drowned -- at the bottom of those buckets. smiley - yuk

They had run across the table and fallen in.

My mother used to find drowned mice in a sink in the cellar.
