At first glance, I thought this looked like a marketing scam, but some friends had good luck, plus they bought us one. So ... we filled it with compost and put the recommended stuff on top (lime?) and planted a couple of cherry tomato plants. Came out pretty good, we ended up having to give away tomatoes because my wife & I could not eat them all. We've been doing the same thing for several years now, although I have to say simple pots do pretty well also.
