My nickname is KimotoCat and there is a perfectly good – however long – explanation for this. This first entry is only the short version:
I am an amateur / hobby author and comic artist and for a good thirteen years I have had a main character in my fictional universe called Kimoto Takita, a half-breed Sheerar*/human** female with semi-Asian cultural background but seated in a fantasy/science fiction environment.
When emerging on the Internet, I found that there are a good many people with my usual (given) name of Kirsten and that it was hard to use it as a handle without facing the ‘handle all ready in use, pick another’, just about no matter where I went. After a few attempts at numbers, codes or even plain ‘Kimoto’, which is BTW a Japanese name, I also ran into other people using that one.
As the before mentioned Sheerar race is very feline (cat-like) in appearance, it suddenly sprang to mind to connect the two into ‘KimotoCat’, which has been my handle on a wide variety of chat-rooms, mail-addresses and site-related homepages ever since. (Yes, I do have a KimotoCat Hotmail address!)
Hence my nickname: KimotoCat.
* The Sheerar is a feline (cat-like) species of high intelligence and some telepathic ability, but primarily four-legged and fairly mountain-lion-like, save their hand-like fore paws.
** The Humans are a bipedal mammal race, somewhat resembling naked monkeys and having very high thoughts about their own intelligence and abilities.
