Sorry about the delay in recent H2G2-attendance, but I've hit jackpot! I've lost the lousy job far away and gotten a better, full-time, lovely, challenging and all-out-wonderful job at the one school where I've always wanted the most to work!
It's not a regular job yet, but on an hour-basis, which means better salary but no pension-savings and a risk of being booted tomorrow. I am substituting for a lady who is pregnant and may have to stay away for 2-18 months, if the latter happens, I am SET!!!
Never have I so much wished the best of luck to a stranger...
