One side note to your well-written Frank Zappa entry: FZ was (by his own description) a composer of classical music. His rock music career had the sole purpose of making money to finance his orchestral recordings. In fact, FZ didn't particularly LIKE rock music. (Which always struck me as odd, because he was damn good at it.)

If you haven't already, I suggest you read his autobiography, which goes into much more detail on this subject. (If nothing else, it's a fun book to read.)

Your point is good, but Franks flights of fancy in Orchestral music don't hold a flame to the rock stuff. And I Know I've got a copy of the Thing Fish
