It would be nice if the person responsible for smileys, could change the new winking smiley back to the old winking smiley. Has anyone else noticed how the new winking smiley looks as though it has a flap of skin hanging across its head - like a skin graft that's gone wrong?

Absolutely. It means 'puts a flap of skin over left eye' - makes perfect sense!
