I think I'm finished. You can tell me why I'm not.

This is an improvement! Much easier to read and process! But... you want to get rid of the 'Introduction' header at the beginning. House style says we never start with a header. Just the way it is.

As it appears that elvis is leaving the building, what are people's thoughts on this entry? Is it close enough that it could be picked and cleaned up by a sub? Or should we be thinking about a move to the Flea Market a week from now?

Honestly, I think FM would be the better alternative. There are no major problems with the Entry, however, some parts should be re-formulated (for more clarity and accuracy). IMO, this is quite some work for a subbie. Then again this is just me.
I could take this one under my wing if a) need be b) no better alternative is found.

What, you think I should give the usual treatment? Sorry, the bear suit is in the wash.

Well, everybody (else) seems to think my purpose in life is to go around giving Guide Entries a hard time. But, like I said, the bear suit is in the wash - indefinitely.

I think you'd better lie down in a dark room and take some aspirin...

I'll just to my secret lab (yes it's dark)...
Anyway. This one would do well in the Flea-Market wher I (and possibly also my esteemed colleague Dr. Monk) could take it over and put it into shape.

Well, thanks for posting the news Jodan.
We'll have to wait some more then...

I think we should let Felonious and HELL loose on this one. I haven't a clue about the subject and so can't really say anything. Besides...I'm tired
I think Paudie has sort of let go because no constructive stuff was coming in after his last edit but I'm sure he'll be excited if people start ripping into it properly as they should be

No no no sorry you misunderstand. I mean it should stay here but HELL and FM should be allowed to give their full opinion...because none of the rest of us know what to say.

I don't know what else I can do to make it easier to understand. It's a complicated topic. Like I said earlier I understand it so I can't see how to change it. If someone tells me what needs to be done, I'll do it. I'd rather it went in the edited Guide instead of the FM really, but if you guys think thats where it should go I'll let it.

Hello...
1st
2nd This Entry is already in the guide. It is not in the *edited* guide
3rd Since you are around FM is not a good idea, because it's the place for *abandoned* Entries. It will not be sent there.
That being said... I'll come back with some specific ideas to improve this Entry later on, OK?

I studies this experiment in detail during my A Levels, just trying to remember everything:
Firstly, was the apparatus a cross with mirrors at two of the points, a screen or measuring device at a third point, with the light entering the equipment at the 4th point. At the centre of the cross there was a prism which refracted the light in the desired directions? If I'm right it might be easier to describe the original set-up as a cross and use compass points, rather than mirror 1, mirror 2 etc, as I found this part confusing.
Secondly you say Michelson and Morley didn't possess lasers but then describe the method using lasers - struck me as a bit odd. How about describing how they did it first time around, the point of the experiment was to measure the speed of light coming from the sun, if aether did have a noticible effect of the speed of light then the speed of light would have been different when the Earth was in a different position relative to the sun. This difference would have been greatest when the Earth was on opposite sides of the sun i.e at 6 month intervals, so Michelson and Morley took series of measurements that were 6 months apart. The steps they took to avoid outside influences affecting their work was interesting, the lab they used remains one of the calmest sites sites on the planet. Having dexribed the original experiment, the part about how it's done now would make more sense.
I like this entry and I hope it gets into the Guide
