I remember the total panic in the news when said baby was born. Gee, there was an extra bulletin. I was driving my car when they interrupted for a special bulletin. I almost fainted, wondering what had happened. Nuclear war?
Noooo...
Denmark had received a new baby prince!
As if...
But that was next to nothing compared to all the jibberish when it was finally anounced that the lil' guy was to be named 'Nikolaj', which is not within the royal tradition of Denmark.
However, as long as Denmark is a contitutional monarchy - and it still is - I guess we should be briefed at important royal events. Briefed, that is, not drowned in silly information.
I agree that the press is overdoing it, not less so the state press (DR & TV2) who spend oodles of tax-payer money on covering every inch of development within the second prince's family. (Joakim & Alexandra.) Okay, thei're married, they have a kid. Nice. Now, what else is new in Tetjenia? The WTO meeting? The crisis in Russian government? The new taxlegislation?
As for the other media, newspapers, magazines and so forth, we get what we pay for. Unfortunately we obviously don't pay enough, judging from what we get.
National greetings, me fellow (and tried) Dane.

Thank you VERY much. It is so nice to hear that other people are as tired of Royalti as I am. Did you by the way notice how much time they spent covering the queen's birthday. It was litterally impossible to turn on the tv without seeing the party. I hope by "God" they know what they are doing on DR1 and TV2. Lets wait for the next big event in the royal family.
