Shower room vs bathroom?
Beatrice Posted Aug 1, 2010
We arrived this morning to find that the taps had been swiped off the bath! Well, if someone can use then, feel free
Day 2 in the Big Bea-hive House - after locating his missing crowbar, Bathroom Guy successfully prized off the old floor, to find surprisingly intact floorboards, which had a grey and turqiouse chequerboard pattern old vinyl tiles stuck on them.
I managed to find a heated towel rail in the bargain section of B&Q which pleased enormously, almost enough to make up for having to clear out the eaves of all the crud left by previous occupants - endless cardboard boxes, clothes hangers, a telly, and some very off-putting duvets and pillows
Photos to follow!

Plasterer is working away today. Once that's done, that's just about all the heavy and messy stuff out of the way.
I still need to get the bathroom place to exchange my pedestal, also find a light and a mirrored cabinet. But it's nearly there.

The most important question: Have you got one of those wee waterproof fish-shaped shower radios yet? Everything else is just window dressing!

Came round at about 4 this afternoon to see how Sammy the plasterer was getting on, only to discover him in the kitchen plastering the ceiling. Yes, traditional builder's gaffe of putting his foot through the floor!
Am trying not to be too upset about all the splashes of plaster now covering the kitchen floor, which I'd diligently scraped clear of blobs of plaster a couple of days ago....

Beatrice, you´re not alone in your pains. Mine mum has two houses that were built for the nastiest tightwad ever (my greatgramp)by craftsmen of the "oops - well, this happens" variety.

This is the closest thing I could find - will it do?
Of course we're all waited with baited breath for the photos of the finished room - you do know that, don't you?

Tiling today. Cept my dog chewed one of the edging strips, so I'll have to nip out and get another.
