Oh, dangnabbit! None of those 8, I don't think. Very shy, barely speaks to the audience above a whisper, wears glasses, dark hair. I think he's american, but not sure.

I'd call it 'música cubana', but then I'm no expert. What we need on this thread is a musician (drummers need not apply ).
Anyway, I love it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd8aGFXb_NU

No need to put it into any box marked "jazz" or anything else
The only 2 music labels you should ever need is "good" and "not for me"

One artist i'd not heard of till this weekend is Django Reinhardt. A french jazz musician who took up the style of Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, et al.

I'm a musician of sorts, I can definitely play some instruments (including the vocal cords) and have some history of music lessons. I'm no professional, but I can produce music, ere goes Musician?

Good for you, Elly! I wish I'd had the patience, as a child, to learn to play music myself - I've never stopped listening, though.

Oh. how opertune. In some ways that this conversation appears on my 'most recent' as I quicly* pop on mid way through a 'listening session', of 'drink all day then come home and listen to music and refuse sleeping for one night' kind of way.... and for some strange* reason, the music on offer that I find appropiate in all so many ways is an alphabetical listening to Frank Zappa albums.... (I've just finsihed 'G'#... the night might be quiet long ..._
