Actually, I think that in the main, the predictable stuff is generally pretty pointless. It all ends up shifting money around without making much of a difference.
My £1.54 multiplied by the number of people who have benefited by that amount would have been a (maybe small) chunk off the deficit and maybe that would have been a better use.
And whilst fuel was falling in price rapidly, a temporary rise in duty would have netted a hefty sum which would have been a useful income and a rise (against the falling price) which would not have been noticed. It wouldn't have been popular politically though. Not in the year before an election.
PP.

The woman in the crashed car referenced earlier has died http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-33497318
I feel sorry for whoever screwed up with this in that they'll have to live with it on their conscience.

...Pluto and Charon, as different as Earth and Luna...
The four asteroidal moons of the Pluto-Charon system are also interesting, two each of two types, probably captured as binary pairs as Pluto and Charon passed through Neptune's Trojan nodes, capture mechanics similar to those that put Phobos and Deimos into orbit around Mars.

Possibly the world's biggest mismatch (unless you know different), tomorrow the USA will take on mighty Jersey in T20 Cricket:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/33520596
Having said that, the Land of the Free hasn't had a good start to the World T20 qualifying tournament. So far they've played Ireland, Nepal and Namibia - and lost all three:

Where'd they find 10 Americans who know how to play cricket.*
*(There are 10 players per side, right? I seriously have no idea. )

A reference for all Americans reading this: A5168063
I'll add that it's not the done thing to attend a cricket match and shout "U... S... A." throughout.

Donald Trump's campaign utilized Godwin's Law ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law ) on itself before anyone else could.

Just to add that the USA won the cricket easily. (Jersey 87 all out, USA 88/5 after 15.4 overs)

We don't see much of him in the UK, but I well remember him trying to buy out a farmer's land, and the farmer not wanting to sell. Trump threw insults at the farmer, and seemed to be incensed that anyone should want to make their own choices rather than service Trump's greed.
Trump's behaviour in that instance was utterly obnoxious.

The End of Private Messaging in the UK?
http://www.forbes.com/sites/theopriestley/2015/07/13/all-instant-messaging-could-be-killed-in-the-uk-within-weeks/
Therein, David Cameron is quoted as saying the following:
“In our country, do we want to allow a means of communication between people which we cannot read?
“My answer to that question is: ‘No, we must not’."
M...kay? Why is there no outcry? Am I just not hearing it? Or have we (be we UKisans, EUisans, or WORLDisans) become too dulled down to even care?

You're just not hearing it. There is an outcry.
Also it's looking like the EU are going to overule him.
