A theoretical question at the moment, but a serious one.

Would any of you be willing to donate one piece of your work to an online auction for a good cause?

It would get you free publicity, which could obviously lead to...

well, fame, glory, riches, obscurity, whatever!

What's the cause?

I might do it out of curiosity to see if anyone would actually pay for my stuff. I'm running out of wall space in my apartment, anyway.

Emily, I lurked through your website last night. Amazing, the work you do. What a wonderful talent you have!

The cause is to help, in practical ways, those people who have sufered trauma in the past (usually but not exclusively child abuse) who are now adult and need short term assistance to overcome a setback in their recovery; this could be something as devastating as the death of a partner, or as supposedly trivial as the non-payment of Social Welfare funding on which thay are dependen.

Events such as these can, in some cases, lead to utter despair & then the person gives up the struggle to be a "Survivor" & becomes yet another sad statistic.

Do you mean wall art? real objects? paintings and such?

Paintings, sculpture, photography; you name it!

It would be nice, but not essential if it reflected the theme of the "Survivors".

I have a Native American friend who might be interested. How serious are you about it-meaning are you decided that you are definetly going to do it....my native american friend is definetly a "survivor"

If this were an ongoing thing...I know some other artists who would be interested.

If you come up with a definite plan let us know. I'll be happy to make something for y'all, though I have no idea what it'll end up being. My stuff usually goes that way, nobody's more surprised at what it grows into than I am.

I'll be happy to donate a couple of my photographs.

They are mostly landscapes but I have a great B&W print of a tiny boat in a storm, that can be linked to survivors. I'll need a couple of days to clean them up on photoshop though - my scanner had dust on it when I scanned them in.

Would they be appropriate?
