If the BBC are cutting jobs on websites, does that affect h2g2??

"The cuts will come from the interactive factual and learning department" as well as music, and will focus on areasw hich duplicate - There's nothing like hootoo, so hopefully we're clear? <grovel.

Well I suppose it depends whether you count other DNA sites and that the threads on them are like the messageboards. To a leyperson (or someone who has their hand on the BBCi purse strings) these are very similar and could be seen as duplication could they not?
Can anyone tell I'm in a bit of a foul mood today?

But then the message boards all around the BBCi site are full of people bemoaning the mods and the fact that urls can't be posted...I doubt there are the same complaints from the other DNA sites.

Ashley Highfield is the Head of BBC New Media, and the man who decided to bring h2g2 into the BBC. He often uses h2g2 as an example of exactly the way the BBC shoud be connecting with its audience.

Hi, Jim!
If I tilt my head just the right way, that is a very interesting sentence!
So, if Ashley loves H2, then the Beeb loves H2?
And if Ashley gets ka-bonged, what does that mean for H2?
How much is that New Media in the window?

We are the future of BBC New Media... we represent the cutting edge, the bow of the ship... which is usually the first bit to hit the iceberg

Nope - not gonna catch me out. I've been experimenting with abuse of the VIEWER tag since day 1.

There will be some changes across New Media and this will probably have an effect on the way h2g2 is run. We can't say any more because the plans haven't been finalised. But as soon as we know we will let you know as much as we can.
