The council contractors mow the verge rather than let the nettles that are there grow for the wildlife. There is plenty of space there to leave them without trouble.

OK if them MUST mow them, and subsequently shred the cans and other detritus that is hidden under the nettles, at least stop and pick it up rather than leave it scattered about.

Just because it is not the usual weight problem does not make it any less of a problem. And my petty hate is people telling me how skinny I am and how lucky I am to be skinny. Sometimes there is a reason that you're bigger than me!

When people don't leave me alone during Doctor Who. I'm like the rest of the geeks, I like watching it when it goes out. what about the phrase “Leave me be when DW is transmitting” don't you hear? Argh.

PH number 2 is hiccups. Painful.

Ah. Hiccups.

I hate having them. Yes, they are rather uncomfortable.

But when someone else has them, they are really, really funny. I was in the cinema a couple of months back and somebody had uncontrollable hiccups. We were all in stitches.

When I have hiccups I take a big breath then hold it for as long as I can. Then I give a little cough because for some reason a cough triggers a hiccup, so it's a way of testing they've gone (that may not be a medical fact, of course. Could just be I'm weird). Works for me every time, although it's a lot less funny for the casual observer than, say, trying to drink from the other side of a glass of water

When replying to other posts in blogs/Forums/Twatter putting the @ sign in front of the name of the poster being replied to.

There's no need for it - just putting the name has indicated for years that you are replying to that person...people aren;t going to not understand the fact that you are replying to that person if you don;t put @ in front of it.
