I only eat worms when no body loves me. Live wriggling ones on stale bread are only for birds.

You know what they say;

"The early bird catches the worm. But weasels don't get sucked into jet engines."

A steak pie. No, really...

A co-worker showed this to me about 12 years ago as the ultimate comfort food... Go into a baker and purchase a large, buttered white bread roll ("bap") and a hot steak pie. Steak mince or mince will do, but *not* steak-and-gravy, for reasons which will become obvious.

Apply sauces to pie as desired, insert pie into bread roll and squish down flat. (I once was given a steak-and-gravy pie by mistake on my way to a meeting with my bank manager, and this was the point that my shirt and tie got drenched in gravy... smiley - wah) Wait about 1 minute for the pie to cool a little, while the heat makes the butter soak into the bread. Eat. Enjoy. smiley - ok

Buzz Lightyear: Getting Ever Warmer

smiley - wow Some great ingredients there!!
But methinks you need some more smiley - chef So here is my twopenny worth...

Salmon & Cottage cheese (also goes well with horseradish) + hard-boiled egg & pickled gerkin. Trust me! smiley - winkeye
Roast turkey, roast ham & pickled onion with cranberry sauce or redcurrant jelly (there's an idea for Chrimbo!! smiley - holly)
Tuna & Spring onion (or any onion).
Tuna mayo, lettuce, tomato & black olive.
Egg mayo & cress with tomato.
Cheese & worchester (sp?) sauce, particularly good toasted.
Cheese & sweet pickle/pickled onions.
Sausages & onions (obligatory!)
Bacon simply must go with brown sauce (or lettuce & tomato). I'm sure there's a guide entry on that somewhere!!
Fried egg with a pinch of rock salt & ground black pepper.
Peanut butter + strawberry jam. If you haven't tried, trust me!! smiley - winkeye
The Presley Fave: Fried Peanutbutter & mashed banana fried sandwich with a sprinkling of brown sugar.
Roast chicken or steak, green peppers, mushrooms & onions.
Layers & layers of Spam!! smiley - winkeye Go on. You know you want to!!

Apologies if any have been repeated here, but reading the backlog, I reckoned a few fillings needed complementing (Such things like "Oooh, you're looking nice today! smiley - smiley). Is there anything you can't put in a sanwich?!!?!!?
Here's a tip - try mixing mayonnaise with French or English mustard (I haven't tried both together!) Doesn't make the mustard as aggressive on the tongue, & it adds depth of flavour smiley - bubbly

Move over Jamie Oliver!! smiley - cake

You guys watch Jamie Oliver on TV too? I always figured he was some British schmoe who they brought over to American TV because he couldn't make it in Britian.

I know the feeling TH KC!

Another yummy filling is just chocolate squares. I used to get it all the time when i was younger from my mum. But you really need to use robust bread like baguette. Sliced bread will just fall apart. So baguette, margerine and chocolate squares. Oh the memories!
