'Handbag' is stretching the term a bit in my case, but the bottom of the thing needs a good hoover and I lined everything up. Here's what I found:

It really depends, but usually it's like that:
Keys
Purse

Mobile phone
Notebook with a pencil
Book or magazine or newspaper (whatever I'm reading on the go)

Pressed powder
Hair brush
Hand cream

That probaly sums it up

Can vary a lot. Right now it's got:

a carton of cigarettes
a dog harness (for biking)
two black plastic bags to collect dog poop
a copy of Alice in Wonderland
my home keyring (the work one's on my desk)
my mobile phone
a hair scrunchy, or whatever they're called
my wallet
an extra pair of sunglasses for emergencies (the other one's on my desk)
a receipt
a powder compact
two tampons
a lipstick
two different lipbalms

Strangely enough no pen and no ibuprofen pills. I'll have to see about that, they're probably in another handbag along with my passport and a notebook that I usually carry about.

Hey, this is a cool topic!! I've always wondered what women carry around in those bags. Now we can find out why it takes 10 minutes to find anything in there.

I'd just like to point out that I don't have a handbag - it's a boy purse!

- One cowskin wallet with 2 credit/debit cards, BBC Club Card, Business cards, some cash (no coins)

- A map to the Medici Galleries

- Armani glasses with case and cleaning cloth

- Passport

- Mobile Phone

- Keys (with Tiffany fob)

- 10p

- Small tube toothpaste

- Dental Receipt

In my handbag I can find:

My handbag is 15 x 25 x 7 cm large, and quite full!
But - I know what Ive got in there, and can find anything within seconds!

Not too much,although it often feels heavy...

its hardly surprising the incidence of back problems in women...

ok, i cleared my 'handbag' out this morning so i actually know exactly whats in there for once. it's actually a ruck sack. this is why.


various sanitary items - because you never know
tissues in a plastic bag - because i got sick of them disintegrating all over everything.

purse - exceedingly awful, chosen by mother and utterly impractical. deparately need another.

book - a text book and a M&B

lunch - i'm at work

kitkat - for emergancies

deoderant - it might get hot

cough sweets
mobile phone - MaW fixed it for me but i'm still not sure how to use it. i've used about 75p of money in the 8 months or so i've had it.

I have recently bought a smaller bag to try and reduce the load, which contains:

credit card holder
purse
comb
lipstick
powder compact
mobile
biro
keys
tissues
various receipts
pen torch
tic-tacs
pda
sunglasses

I then spend at least 5 minutes looking for things, ing and muttering biecause it's all jammed in so tight I can't get at anything without unloading items!

Well, actually it's a bum bag, but:

Wallet
Tobacco pouch
Very large bunch of keys, three of which I ever use
Doggy Meaty Treats (for the rare occassions the dog's actually a Good Boy)
lighter
bag and poop scoop (never know when it'll chose)
lipstick, mangled, melted, rarely used
two fag ends (no bin around)
snap light (one of those glow stick thingies, no idea why)

As a man i am amazed at the list of rubbish... or i was till i looked in my passenger footwell and glovebox

I don't carry one, or a 'boy purse', but I can reveal that in my pocketses are:

keys
wallet
handkerchief
some change
mobile phone

That's it. That's all I need to carry. Self sufficient, that's me.

And if I need anything else I get the Admiral to put it in her handbag.
