South Florida, 18.00 Friday evening.
...phew...TD #9 has just been downgraded to a mere tropical wave.
The hurricane hunter aircraft that was sent out this afternoon could not find any low level circulation, although it is obviously circulating in the middle levels.
The storm centre is about 100 miles off the south coast of Hispaniola and is currently drenching most of the Dominican Republic.
The weathermen say we're still going to get wet.

Really sunny and "nothin' but blue skies..." A bit windy though, so it isn't very warm weather we're having.

76F very light winds. Wispy clouds of yesterday are gone, sky perfectly clear. The remainder of Tropical Storm Ignacio that hit Baja California, in Mexico, is causing flash floods in the desert east of here.
Temperatures dropped from the mid 90s to the low 80s, and we've been getting some evening coolth, down to mid sixties. The Purple Dragon coleus I have been nursing along as if it were a perennial the last four years (instead of like the annual it is supposed to be) has decided to bloom madly, competing with the scaevola hanging near it for sheer purplitude.

Good grief, Alec, not content with our wind and rain, you had to move somewhere that has hurricanes.
I hope your hatches are battened and that the hurricane passes you by causing no damage what so ever.
