I used to see lots of them when I was a kid - but very rarely now.

They are caused by a medical condition called Endocrine Pancreatic Insuffiency. The diagnosis and treatment has progressed, so most dogs are treated for it very easily (a capsule of pancreatic enzyme a day will sort it out!).

However treatment is not cheap, and often people dont realise it is a problem and think their dog just does weird poos!

I remember going to school and seeing many about. I am surprised if I see any any around these days.

It is particularly common in Golden Retrievers and German Shepherd Dogs.

Some useless information for you smiley - laugh

I'm not really here

Buster does white poos if he's just scoffed a juicy bone, although I haven't seen it lately, but he doesn't seem to enjoy bones as much as he used to.

They come out white????!!!!

I thought they aged that way and that the reason we no longer saw them is
1)dog food was better
or
2)people now pick up the poopies

Wow! At least I know now after all these years!
