Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

Thirty years ago today (UK-time, being a BBC place and stuff) was quite a life-changing time for me. So I have taken a day from work, the real world, (excluding a need to bust up ice and snow stuff) A not-so-brief run-down as to "why" lives at http://rev-nick.livejournal.com/3965.html . No one is expected to reply. For me, it's as much a venting, an airing of the soul, an opportunity to 'expose myself', as anything else.

Another 10 minutes, and life goes on. smiley - smiley

And "self-exposure" is allowed here, if done either very tastefully or really VERY quickly. And since I have never been known to be tasteful ...

howdy folks!

A thought crossed my mind about half an hour ago...
Gracious!

Have any of you ever bought those smiley - biro that you put the name of your company (if you are lucky enough to have one) on.
You don't see many of them around these days.

Did the company go bust?

Late in my afternoon, a smiley - tea goes quite nicely, thank you. A Lady-friend from Essex keeps me stocked-up in PG-Tips, the only smiley - tea that I actually like. Canuck stuff just doesn't set well with me. smiley - doh

For the best part of his final year of life, I lived one week of three with my grandfather. He taught me his rules for a lot of card games, how to properly smoke a pipe, and that smiley - coffee is best enjoyed just as it is brewed. No thinners, sweeteners, or anything. I prefer to take a smiley - tea the same way, just as nature provides it, sort of ...

Have you written an article about how to properly smoke a pipe?

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

No, ... I'd thought of it a time or two, but it is far too subjective. I've only enjoyed a dozen or 15 blends of tobacco, in perhaps 3 manufacturers of pipes. It would take a LOT more research than I have the free time to delve in to, to make it broad enough for a truly international audience.

Sorry, not here. An hour or so of driving down the Trans-Canada highway, we have a Mohawk nation.

Like so many other "nations", they accepted reservations of land, immuteable freedoms from taxation, for hunting and fishing any where or time they wish, ... And show up when it seems time to demand more rights and what-evers.

My personal opinion is that many native cultures were poorly done-by, a century and a half ago. But their leaders accepted the offers and conditions of the day. Exactly why should I, 160 years later, be held hostage for demands of the triple or more great-grand-children of those people? Folks who could not start a fire withour a butane lighter if their life depended on it ... The folks of today, the reserves, the "treaty" people, are NOT the people of yesteryear. They are today's folks, with iPods, free housing and tax-free options for income (if they choose to work), pockets full of free cash, and wanting more.

Whoops, ... sorry, soap-box time.
