Well... here I am using my journal. This is kinda cool! I've always wanted an online journal for some reason. A place to put all sorts of venty type thoughts and basically crap about everything or write down my rambly thoughts. I just started reading a book today, called Sophie's World. I started it several times before, but unfortunately it was during the school year and you know how school is. You never have time to do anything no matter how little schoolwork you think you have. What a pity... People should never let schooling get in the way of their education but if you want to succeed in life as well I guess doing well in school does something to help. Anyway, about Sophie's World! It's by a Norwegian man named Jostein Gaarder, so of course it's translated... (I wonder what Norwegian is like and if I would get a totally different feel of this book if I knew Norwegian and read it in Gaarder's real words... well, probably... obviously!) I'm not very far yet, so far it's talking about how philosophers need the faculty of wonder and nothing else to think about things. How children are born wondering and haven't begun taking everything in the world for granted yet. Perhaps that's why children are always so delightful. They're always wondering and with them, anything's possible. However, little children who have already begun to get adult-ish are quite a pain. They think they know, those titchy little bratty ones, but they really don't because no one does, especially not if they've closed up their minds already. Well, before I put whoever might be reading this to sleep, I guess I'll just leave it at that for today.
