Ivan the Terribly Average

Just quickly - it's nineteenth-century London, not eighteenth.

Hi doughnut slayer, smiley - ok Couple of things - you say - "Basic morals are expressed throughout these stories" smiley - erm shall we gloss over Holmes misogony and drug taking ? His endangerment of children ? His acceptance of the slum landlords ?

Perhaps a bit too sweeping a statement ?

At the end of the 1st paragraph there is a spurious 'for'

If this is a review of the book it needs to include all the stories in it. You don't need to give a breakdown of all the short stories, though a precis of the novels would be good. We perhaps need to know more about the author (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, not Dr John Watson) How a man of his supposed analytical talents was taken in by mediums, and the scientist he based Holmes upon. (smiley - grr his name has gone.)

Just some thoughts smiley - ok

smiley - cider

Well, the author doesn't appear to have been back for some months. Given that, and Jimster's post above, should we consider moving this thread back to the entry?
