Mind if I drop a little bombshell??
Everyone seems to think he was evil. I don't think he was. Hell yes he did sick sick things, but he was human yes? He liked Walt Disney. He was a family man. He did some really bad things, but did he need to be executed? Slightly off the point, but I feel like talking about it.

Well said! In all things there must be balance. I do not believe that it is possible to be truly evil (or truly good for that matter)
PS he liked Walt Disney?

Thanks,
I've mentioned it to my mum, and she doesn't quite understand me. Nice that someone does! I agree, good and evil.. I don't know about good, but evil - everyone has good points I reckon. It would be incredibly hard to be 100% good too I think, unfotunately lol.
Yeah, apparently he does. His house was searched or raided or something and they found loads of statues of Disney characters. Quite sweet in a way! What do you think about his execution??

I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand he murdered many of his people and deserved to be punished, but on the other two wrongs don't make a right... I'm not sure what I would have done...
Are you following the 'Who's got integrity' thread, by any chance? It strikes me as something you would be interested in. I can get you a link, if you like...

An afterthought...
His execution was a bad thing from one point of view... if you've read George Orwell's 1984 you know that the Party in that has the power to change the past, or the public's perception of it. In a amall way we have that power today. Should they desire to, those still loyal to Saddam could make him a martyr for their cause, and re-create him the way THEY want him to be. Or how they want others to react to him, though I believe the media has done this anyway. They did it with Hitler, so...
