I think, even when money is tight, the sense of well-being from making a donation is greater, there is more importance on making whatever difference you can to those who are less fortunate.

What I can't fathom is this- Eddie Izzard RAN 40 odd marathons, Laurence Dallalio CYCLED 1000 odd miles, yet Christine Bleakley was PULLED for just over 21 miles and got more money in sponsorship!! It's a funny old world!!

LOL We're still it finding hard to comprehend how Izzard managed to run 43 marathons in 51 days. That's completely incredible. There's an online campaign to get him knighted.

Really? I didn't know that. I bet he would be horrified at the thought- Lord Edward of Izzardland!! Ha ha!

It's a shame not more was made of some of these efforts as I suspect they could have raised a lot more. Helen Skelton got a slot at 1:30 in the afternoon on a weekend and Eddie running was 10:30pm (this was good TV too).

However, cracking effort on all counts and probably can't grumble at £33m.

£33 million was a fantastic amount! I wonder how many questions you could get asked in Parliament for that sort of money?
