MonkeyS- all revved up with no place to go

I think, even when money is tight, the sense of well-being from making a donation is greater, there is more importance on making whatever difference you can to those who are less fortunate.

What I can't fathom is this- Eddie Izzard RAN 40 odd marathons, Laurence Dallalio CYCLED 1000 odd miles, yet Christine Bleakley was PULLED for just over 21 miles and got more money in sponsorship!! It's a funny old world!!smiley - cheers

LOLsmiley - laugh We're still it finding hard to comprehend how Izzard managed to run 43 marathons in 51 days. That's completely incredible. There's an online campaign to get him knighted.smiley - ok

Really? I didn't know that. I bet he would be horrified at the thought- Lord Edward of Izzardland!! Ha ha!

Do you think he'd wear something off the shoulder to the Palace? smiley - biggrin

It's a shame not more was made of some of these efforts as I suspect they could have raised a lot more. Helen Skelton got a slot at 1:30 in the afternoon on a weekend and Eddie running was 10:30pm (this was good TV too).

However, cracking effort on all counts and probably can't grumble at £33m.

Yes, indeed, the timing of some of the events on the telebox left a lot to be desired. Still, you can't please all of the people...

£33 million was a fantastic amount! I wonder how many questions you could get asked in Parliament for that sort of money?
