h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I´m just listening to Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. It is quite a sad song, I can understand why they played it at Douglas Adams´ funeral. It´s good at conveying the feeling you get when there´s someone you know you will never see again. The song The Show Must Go On by Queen is also rather moving, partly because it´s written by someone who knew he was dying.
Which song do you think is the saddest?

'I wish I could fly' by Orville and Keith Harris - it gets me everytime.

Which is saddest at any given moment would depend on my mood at that moment.

At any moment I reckon "Dead Man Blues" sung by Georgia White in 1938 when she was just 35 would have to be up there among them. She realises she's made mistakes it's too late to put right.

Sorry to bring the tone down, but Billy Joel's "Leningrad" still gets me every time. Actually, it's not really sad, just sentimental.

Just to reinstate my credibility, I will add that singing a Bach Passion usually takes my breath away, and I have trouble soldiering on during the more moving parts.

I don't know, but it is bound to be written in Am or Dm.

This thread appeared at the top of both columns in my "More Conversations" page. I refreshed once or twice, but it was still there - in stereo! Most odd!

If you unsub and resub, it's sorted. In Brunel, at least.

OK, the actual bug needs to be adressed, but it's a temporary workaround if it's driving you mad.

I haven't logged out and in again but I'm having another go to see if it's sorted now. Lots of other little have been - Pastey is a real brick!
