Hello again,Alison!
Just called round with some info. for you re: Open days for courses.
Possibly of GREATEST interest would be that at Bridge Warden's College,Chatham Dockyard on Sat. 27 March.-Creative Writing is on timetable :11am-12noon.
Also,on Sat.20th Mar. there is an open day ay Keynes College, which is on the Canterbury campus itself.
No Creative Writing,though: Eng.Lit.-10-11am
Comparative Lit.-11-12noon.
Further suggestion:drop an e-mail to Patricia Debney at the University:she co-ordinates p/t cert.courses for English and will be v. helpful if you need advice on course to suit you.
Hope this may be of some assistance to you.
Have a good day!FINDO

Hey thanks Findo. Patricia has an article about teaching creative writing in current issue of Connections, which is also where I saw the ad. I am determined to do something about getting myself on a course this year. My Ma took evening courses in O level lit and lang at the same time I was doing them at school and she got better grades than me!!!
Ta again.

Hope you do find something that suits,Ali-let me know how it goes.
BTW,re:last weekend's debacle-think the "multiposters" and agents provocateurs are back at their games!
Some characters seem v. suss.,esp. if you look on their portfolios!
I hope it's just the old paranoia, but it's a pity we can't enjoy being "naughty" without it getting out of hand, ain't it?
Have a good weekend. FINDO

It is all very juvenile and a little tiresome. I like a laugh as much as the next person and a good sparring match is great but some of the stuff is idiocy for idiocy's sake. Don't know about multi posting. If that's what some people need to do for whatever their reasons then it can't be stopped. I have an alternate user name which I only use if for some reason this one won't let me in but I will say it's me if I post.
Paranioa is a wast of energy, what does it matter if they multi post. If it gets personal then alert the mods. If a thread annoys you go somewhere else. I learnt that from my early angst on here when I was criticised for a few things.
Don't think it matters where you go you will get someone trying to stir.
My twelve yr old daughter says it is like a school playground on here sometimes. Not that she reads all that goes on, but sometimes I post one of her poems and she reads over my shoulder when I am tracing threads for comments for her.
Had the same trouble in theatre group with some people never happy unless they have a wooden spoon in their hand.
I upset the whole lot of them once and none of them spoke to me for a year!
Guess waht, they came crawling back and apologised when they saw I had some new friends!
ok Rant over.
Love ya...

Ah, The Arden Theatre Group, you can check out the website. www.ardentheatre.co.uk
If you click on former productions page it is quite an impressive CV for a 98 seat am dram theatre.
Think It was Channel theatre co who did the promendade performance of Roeo and Juliet at Cant;Cathedral some years back. great stuff.
We are the crazy pair (me and hubby)
who staged two Python plays and a couple of Teryy Pratchetts, I was stage manager and co producer of a two week run of The Lion , The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Not in volved at the mo, suppose taking a sabbatical would cover it!!
Got the bug itching away now though, want to do Le Cage aux Folles.
Might put a blues night on soon(I do organise gigs sometimes,) would you come?
Ali
