Thanks Prof for the links they make interesting read. It has been quite a long time since I last visited North Yorkshire. I really enjoyed myself in York as it is not spoiled like many cities with heavy traffic and very high buildings (I am bit like a hobbit as I do not like noisy places or very high buildings) and there are so many historical places to visit. I never got to see the steam train museum.

Today I had a very good out when I went out with a group of people to indoor ten pin bowling in Romford which was organised by the Thurrock/Havering Family MOSAIC.

The last time I played cricket was in the 70's during one of my school's PE classes. It was a game between girls and the boys where I was bowled out through a ball striking my left ear which was very embarrassing. I don't know how many runs I managed or who won by I know it was very close. I was quite good at rounders and I found playing cricket a lot easier than rounders.

A favorite boyhood moment, my PE class was playing a game of baseball, I was getting rather tired of the game and being out in the full sun was making me feel uncomfortable.

(I'd picked up a sunburn at the beach the weekend before.)

I noticed a loose thread hanging from the ball, calmly walked out to the pitcher's mound, placed the ball in the pitcher's hand with what I figured was just the right presentation, walked back to the batter's mound, held the bat in what I figured was just the right presentation, made a hit, simultaneously breaking the bat and sinning the ball, which, while the skin went one way, fell inside the lines of the baseball diamond, unravelling as it bounced and rolled, leaving a trail of string behind it.
