Hallo again Len,
Just read the last effort and I understood exactly how it was. Your description of the lack of disciplie was graphic having seen such a thing myself only we prevailed in the end, obviously not in such horrible conditions as you had.
One handed knots eh, I could have done with that knowledge in my Boy Scout Troop we were hopeless with the old sheep shank etc.
Keep going I am awaiting the next story.
Regards Frank.

Dear Frank
Glad you find my tales fascinating - there are endless more of them to come, if the BBC doesn't at last get fed up with them. I'm wondering whether to include the story of the actual batthe for Singapore.
Incidentally, there's no fiction in anything I write, and no exaggeration.
Regards Len

Hello Len,
I am an old soldier like yourself but after your time and then in man management until I retired. I have heard it all when it comes to Bull####.
I read your stories and know they are from experience by those little details that only a participent would add and only another soldier would recognise
We had a documetary about how Singapore fell a while back and that is how I found out some of the truth after all these years. It was a broad outlook view and a view from some one taking part must be Posted as it is the personal interest needed to fill all the stories out.
Write up that story and never worry about BBC getting fed up they are more interested in getting all the details while people like you are still here to give them.
you are doing every thing right, feed it onto the site in instalments, that way you keep the interest high, it also puts the story in historic order making it easier to file.
I cannot wait for the next episode so get writing. I may be absent over the next couple of weeks with the family events but I will not have gone for good so dont get worried if you do not see my name for a short while.
May I wish you a very good Christmas and New Year.
Frank.

Dear Frank
Many thanks for your latest message. I'm making a short break in the instalments of our POW adventures (if one can call them that), and have submitted the first of two or three of the actual campaign (again, if one can call it that, it was so badly organised.
Wishing you & yours all the very best for Christmas and the New Year'
Sincerely Len

Dear Len,
I understand but will be looking foward to the next episode. I have been talking to Peter about his time as a youth in Italy (shipped out from England when war started)he mentions hunger and what it does to you, some of the things they ate. I imagine it was even worse in your case so would like some enlightenment about that.
Have been in a bruising battle on another forum so kept busy, Peter is a good foxhole buddy in those events so I found, bloody but unbowed would be the word.
May I wish you and yours a Wonderful Christmas and New Year as ours will be.
Do not wait to long to post in the New Year will you.
Regards Frank.
