A Conversation for Boredom

I was 'relieved'(?) to find an approved entry on boredom, but disappointed in it's content.
Boredom does not necessarily stem from having 'nothing' to do, but from not wanting to partake of the options available, and not being in a position to do something better instead.
There is also a lack of an explanation regarding what 'birds of a feather' is.
At the very least, a footnote giving this entry as an example of something boring is called for.

NB Another example of boredom is wandering around h2g2 moaning about other people's guide entries.

'Birds of a Feather'. British sitcom about three women, the joke being that...*thinks*...I don't actually think there was a joke. Almost as tedious as a double bill of 'Last of the Summer Wine' (another British sitcom involving three old blokes, the joke being that one of them owns a bicycle) followed by an extra-long-length edition of 'Songs of Praise'.

I'm glad someone else noticed that this boredom entry wasn't very comprehensive. I agree that there is more to boredom. There can be many different 'versions' of boredom, just like there are many shades of grey. I've recently felt bored since I have been so busy lately at university, then my course commitments stopped and now I have nothing to do, and so I feel bored. Normally I would find it very easy to lazy around, stay in bed late and watch TV, but I'm having to work myself into it again!

A double bill of 'Last of the Summer Wine' followed by an extra-long-length edition of 'Songs of Praise' is whats known as the "long dark tea time of the soul".

boredom can be defined as having to be somewhere where you'd choose not to be, and being restricted to what you can do, so i suppose its a form of capture...
lets face it if everybody was doing what they really wanted no-one would be bored...

Someone once said tome that boredom was the origin of all activity. I don't necessarily agree with this rather dark and gloomy view.

yes when you're bored your mind sort of wanders and sometimes you think up really cool stuff or just really strange stuff to do(i wonder what happens if you mix Coke with wasabi? but who would drink it? Hey little brother want a nice refreshing coke?)
