I think the only reason we were waiting was in case the author decided to fix whatever made it be hidden in the first place, so it could be unhidden, so we could all look at it.

The author has been around since this was hidden but hasn't posted here. Ignoring is a strong word, but perhaps the author is not paying attention?

Shame. I knew at least two people that went there...

It used to be located in Islington, near the Angel, and not very far from Central Foundation school at the other end of the City Road (of weasel-popping fame). There is still some sort of a DAO Centre on the original site, but I believe the school itself moved out to the suburbs x years ago.

You're right - the one I know's in Potters Bar.

But if it's Potters Bar then I'm wrong. P B isn't the suburbs.

Depends if you count the one token statutory green-belt farm between Cockfosters/Hadley Wood and the M25 as proper countryside - my brother lives in Potters Bar and it definitely feels like the suburbs when I go there...

Well I take your point. It certainly feels like the suburbs, admittedly, but that's ribbon development for you. Although the stretch of road from Chipping Barnet to PB past Wrotham Park is pretty rural for five minutes, and of course as soon as you leave the main road places like Monken Hadley and Dancers Hill are definitely rural.

But what I meant about PB is this: it's beyond the 020 phone area, it's beyond Livingstonia (prob comes under Hertsmere or something, I shouldn't wonder), it's beyond the M25, it's beyond the Tube, it's beyond, er, belief?

You're right, of course. The thing I find annoying is that I live in what I think of as 'proper' North London (Harringay) and yet my brother, living five minutes from Potters Bar station, can catch a fast train to Kings Cross and get to anywhere in London ten minutes before me, door to door...

From Harringay you've got a fast overhead connection via Finsbury Pk either into the City or to Kings X. Same line as your bro but much closer - and you can change at Highbury for the Victoria line.

Have you noticed how many celebs these days live in Crouch End and Muswell Hill, which are not exactly well served by public transport?

Muswell Hill and Crouch End have been home to celebs for a good while now Bels. MH has always been Highgate overspill, and I think Andy whatsisface - world music presenter ex Radio one now Radio 3... don't tell me it's on the tip of my tongue

Kershaw (Ooh, it's like taking off tight shoes ) is largely responsible for Crouch End becoming so trendy, what with living there and financing (and frequenting) his ex's restaurant on Park Road, the name of which utterly escapes me. And then there's Dave Stewart's recording studio and all those tales of Bob Dylan knocking on doors up and down various street in Crouch End and Hornsey wanting to buy people's homes just so he can have a pad nearby

Some time ago I lived in Crouch End for about a year, in Ferme Park Road. Shortly after I moved in I discovered that only 3 doors away lived Suzy Quatro, who was still big news at the time and so the place was bombarded from time to time by photographers and paparazzi (yes, even then) and no, they couldn't use our bathroom.

Really? In that case Bels, we may have a mutual acqaintance in Suzy Q

Not long after she married her guitarist (or was it her drummer?), she moved to a village near the town where I grew up, and we often used to see her in one of the pubs there
