I learned today from a news report that Kosovo is about one third the size of Belgium (a clear reflection of the current preference for use of the EU-favoured measurement). That would make it half the size of Wales (one Wales being two-thirds of a Belgium), and perhaps, therefore, appealing to traditionalists looking for a convenient single measure equivalent to half a Wales.
