At 11:36am today (17th June) Our new daughter Isobel arrived. Bernadette had been in labour all night - contractions had been five minutes apart since midnight, and was rather exhausted when Isobel finally arrived.
We had the birth at home, and Bernadette managed with only gas and air for pain relief.
Mother and baby are doing fine, resting at the moment. Charlotte has gone with her Grandparents to the church fete this afternoon, so I hope that will entertain her.

Congratulations... and well done Bernadette.
Home-birth... definitely the best experience.
Several days of contractions are not uncommon with subsequent babies, it would seem. *another new smiley needed*

Sleep? Hah!
Actually, after being awake until about 4am, Isobel slept for most of the rest of the night. Unfortunately, Charlotte woke up earlier than she usually does, otherwise we might have caught up even more.
Bernadette's catching up with some sleep now while I cook lunch. I'd better go and make sure it isn't burning...
