Dear Marymog
I have today spoken to my cousin Robin Grayson. Your information was correct and you have made me a "Happy Bunny".
It is 70 years since we saw each other when he came with his brother to stay with us and escape the "Doodlebugs" bombing London.
Now we will keep in contact and I hope to visit him soon.
Thanks so much for your help.

I wonder if you can find anything about a Charlse Hoare, born 1927/8 and lived in Blackheath, London, near Greenwich. in 1946-8. He was in the Royal Engineers in 1946 stationed in North Wales and served in Egypt.
Think he married a girl called Virginia.
Hope you have some luck because I haven't.

I have found out through Ancestry that Charles Hoare died in 1998.
Thankyou so much for your help. How do you do it? If I could I would give you a bottle of wine for your trouble.
I was curious to find him as he was my first serious boyfriend but my mother thought me too young to get engaged and I was going to University. He sent me a 'Dear Mary' letter saying I ave found smone whose eyes are bluer and heart is truer'
I cried for days but my friends re round me and I soon recovered!
Thanks again.
May I join your friends' group?

Oooh Bessie
looking up your first love. My first love emigrated to Aus. I was too young to go with him, and by the time I was old enough, we had lost contact. The first one always sticks.
Of course you can be my friend.

I have been 3 hours looking for my Aunty Fanny (Frances) who lived in Lancaster when I was a child. She was my mother's aunt. I remember visiting her with my mother in a large house and falling down the cellar steps! Never been the same since!!!
I was told she married a man called Savage but I can only find a marriage to a John Stirzaker in 1895. Then I looked for them in the 1901 census but no luck. Could he have died between 1895 and 1901 and could she have married again to a Mr Savage? I can find nothing so far.
I tried the 1911 census but that is a dead loss. I can't even find my Grandfather and Grandmother with 5 kids on it.
I live in Beautiful North Wales. Where are you?
Enjoy the weekend.

If you give me the details I will have a look for you, I will need your aunt Fannys name and rough birth year, and area.
I was on holiday in north Wales last year, stayed near to Ruthin
I live in Holland, near to Amsterdam, though I hail from London.

I am very near Ruthin.
My Great Aunt's details.
Frances Connolly (Must have changed eventually as my mother was CONLEY)
Born 1871 in Attercliffe, Sheffield, Yorkshire.
Father Peter Charles (Irish)
Mother Bessie Bennett Johnson. (Lancaster)
Thanks for trying. Hope you have better luck than me.
My son worked in a Dutch bar as pianist/entertainer in Torremolinos.
He bacame very friendly with the family and when they moved back to Holland they paid for him to go over and play for the husband's 60th birthday. It is years since we had a holiday there but we were friendly with your famous Rose Breeder, Jan Speck.

You are amazing! You could set up a business helping people. One lady advertises on one of the programmes and charges at least £20 An hour.
Now I am upset to think that I could have known her before she died.
Apart from visiting her as a toddler I heard no more about her.
Maybe because we left Lancashire when I was young.
But why my mother and aunts never mantioned her I do not know.
I think the man, Savage, married her sister, Mary Ann Connoly, born 1869 in Shefield and that is where my cousin must have got the name got the name. I shall now try and contact her offsprings.
Thanks again.
