As far as I can see, the only clash with the Guidelines is that I've written in the first person, but since the article is based on my personal experience as a Final Tr. medical student I couldn't get around this...

I meant Final 'Yr'... couldn't figure out how to edit the conversation entry.

Hey camillu,
As a fellow final yr med student I feel your pain.
However, your entry is more about your personal experiences with types of sleep than it is about type of sleep in general.
Take another look at the Writing Guidelines.
This entry would be great for either the post or the alternate writing workshop, but the edited guide's standards about first person entries are there to perserve an almost encyclopedia-type entry, but more clever.
Also here are some other entries on sleep:
A633098 Sleep and Teenagers
A590799 How to Get a Good Night's Sleep
A188101 Sleep
A261046 Sleep Deprivation
A293951 Surviving on Little Sleep
Take a look at those and see if you can modify your entry to cover different ground than those (which it does), but in a kinda similar, Edited Guide Frinedly style.

Alternatively, you could consider that this is a well written first person perspective piece which would make a lot of people laugh/nod in understanding if it was either submitted to the post, or put in the Alternative Writing Workshop, the place on H2G2 for creative writing.
Certainly, I enjoyed this a lot.

Hmmmm.... Given the above, and that the author doesn't seem to have posted in over 2 months, should we consider moving the thread back to the entry (since it's not EG-suitable, it would make sense to move to the FM)?

I'd say a move to the AWW would be in order. Seconders?

But doesn't a move to the AWW assume that the author is still active and willing to participate in the entry? Or have things changed there?

I don't know of any changes but isn't the AWW the place for alternative writing (finished or not) - where I'd say this entry is finished, although in a non-EG style.

Mmm, makes great reading, doesn't it. I like the bit about Napoleon and Churchill having marginally less to worry about that a fifth year medical student!
