Well done. As you said, people think genetics is all about people in white coats.. when it's really all about those punnet-squares :P

*chuckles* I can think of quite a few examples where if they had done the experiment _slightly_ different, it wouldn't have worked.. Like Mendel with his peas - just "happened" to pick genes that were all on separate chromosomes.

Yeah, and Mendel faked his results!

A statistical study of his work showed his results (4:1, 2:2, 9:3:3:1 ratios) were SO CLOSE to what he expected, that he must have fiddled with his data. But then they had a different attitude to scientific inquiry in those days...
