If so, then perhaps I might have a bit of your time?
I've started a new entry for the guide - A5113388 - on Stirling Engines. I've been through a few versions of it, and am now tidying it up and would appreciate any comments anyone might have on it.
I've got to the stage where, when I read it, I read what I think I've written so a fresh pair of eyes or two to look at it would be useful to remove the more glaring errors before it goes to PR.
If you have the time and inclination that is

Hello my lovely little
Went for a quick look and ended up totally engrossed!
Just a couple of spelling errors love...
Your explanation of the workings to the first engine:
"The heat and cooling processes are applied conTinually"
Power Stroke 2: "ddriving"
The Heat Exchanger.. "resCuing"
The Future... 2nd Para....."putTing"
3rd para.... "activelY"
last para...."inthe" (space missing)
I hope I have been clear enough in explaining where the errors are, I am not very good at this.
lil xx

No, that was great, thanks! Although resuing was reusing, not rescuing!
Does it read ok? Any thoughts on layout of missing information, or even too much information?

that's 'layour OR missing information'.
Obviously the layout *of* missing information is something I can't do much about

sorry about that.. I am used to seeing re-using hyphenated (or is it that I hypenate it?)
I think others are best advising as to the layout, I must admit to being too engrossed to take in anything else.
It isn't too long and, I think, it is a very informative piece of work.

thankyou!
Hyphenation seems to be one of those things that is fast disappearing, except when people want to make up nonsense words.
Odd.

Second para under *How they work*
Varients - Should be Variants
Under Beta Type Engines
Flush fittings, should be flush fittings; Makes better grammatical sense
The same applies to hot, too. This should have a semi-colon after it.
Next para down
Inside the cylinder is a displacer piston, which doesn't quite fit, attached to a fly wheel
Perhaps this would be better reading as
Inside the cylinder a displacer piston, which doesn’t quite fit, is attached to a fly wheel.
Sub heading – “Transfer”
Drivving – should be driving
Under sub heading – “cool”
which pulls the power piston back into the cylinder
This would be better as “this pulls the……..”
Under heading “Alpha Type Engine”
Second para
Conventinal Should be conventional
Under sub heading “transfer”
1. Transfer: The final stage of the cycle, with piston A at TDC and piston B halfway to TDC. The fluid is cooled. Now the flywheel and cranlk turn another 90°, causing Piston A to be drawn back halfway to BDC and piston B to be pusched up to TDC. The fluid is therefore pumped back, through the heat exchanger, into cylinder A (the hot cylinder). As it passes through the heat exchanger it takes back some of the heat so that when it enters cylinder A it is already partially heated.Once in cylinder A it is heated and we go back to step one.
The words Crank and pushed are mis-spelled. Also you need a space between the words heated and Once.
Under Main uses
Propulsion
Proprietry This should be proprietary
Under “Other uses”
Striling engines can be found in cryocooling systems. If designed specifically, it is possible to get a sirling engine where the cold end can get as low as 10 Kelvin. One use of this is with very small Stirling engines used to cool the IR chips in some night vision devices
Stirling incorrectly spelt twice. Cryocooling. Should this be hyphenated?
Next para down
Differention Should this be differential?
Under “The Future”
Second para
Competative This should be competitive
Fifth para in this section
transferring should be transferring
Sixth para in this section
Perhaps as part of a hybrid powerplant or through further development and optimisation. Chuck a comma after powerplant.
*s away very quickly*

cheers VV!
Got a bit disheartened with this re: the images thing. Can;t get an answer until it goes topeer review and can't really submiut it to peer review without providing a full explanation without piccies but with links.
But you've spurred me on!

what piccies? Explain in words of one syllable and I'll see what I can come up with

well, in the entry I link to another site for images of how the stirling engine works. What I want is some piccies to illustrate how the engine cycle works.

yeah, they're the sort of thing, although obviously animated images in the guide are not really done.
What I was after was getting a community artist to blob some images, but apparently the artists only get involved with an article after it has been accepted for the edited guide. I think this is wrong, I think we should be able to get the piccies up where the article depends on the images. Peets already sorta agreed to it, but the PTBs say no until it is peer reviewed.
I'll probably just bung it through peer review with no links in it to force them to create their own. Then again, whop knows what piccies they'd come up with, accuracy isn't a strong point.
