in yesterdays game against england, pakistani bowler shoib akhter bowled a bowl at 100.2 mph but i read in the bbc news that the ICC has refused to accept it as the fastest ball by saying that the speed gun was out of order. to me it is just a bias of the ICC towards Pakistan. how can they use faulty speed guns in world cup??

I'm a bit sceptical about the whole "speed gun" business anyway.

In that case we have 2 alternatives
1. Find another way of measuring the speed of the ball, or
2. Give up on measuring the speed of the ball
Personally, I'm in with number two as I don't really see why it matters exactly how fast Shoaib bowls. All I need to know is that its bloody fast and gets a hell of a lot of wickets.
