War is always an evil...

...but sometimes it is a necessary evil. Sometimes violence (or the threat of it) is the only way of preventing even greater misery and bloodshed; World War II showed that. That is why I stayed away from the march. That is why, when Saddam Hussein gets kicked out in the next few weeks, I will inwardly cheer silently, even if it is by the hand of the idiot Bush. Saddam Hussein is a monster: I have been following his exploits over the past decade and can find no reason why he should not be deposed, even by force. That is how I apporach the issue, anyway.

I could do with a nice long break. Somewhere hot and tropical, with lots of nice warm water to dangle my toes in, pina coladas, seafood sizzling on the barbecue...
Instead, I'm now stuck in an office in Loughborough, looking out at several fat rabbits chewing the grass outside. At least it's sunny, if not very warm.
