B*****d Sound and Lighting Technician From Hell

1 Conversation

I'm really bored. You know how bored you get when the rehearsals are going on and on and on, and nothing interesting is happening.

So, to relieve the boredom, I get some epoxy resin, and fill the stereo inputs on the mixing desk with it. Next I wire up that cable lying next to it to a 75 volt charge (not enough to kill, enough to kick ass). I hear (through the monitoring headphones) that the moron of an assistant that the Technical Director assigned to me has been messing about with MY mixing desk. It's time to give him a taste of the sweet electric medicine.

BOOM! I hear as he tries to plug in his CD player to the mixing desk. Looks like I'm gonna need a new assistant, and maybe that cool new mixer I saw in Sound on Sound. I'll have lots of time to decide on that soon, but meanwhile it's time to rig up the lights.

So, firstly we've got some spotlights to put up, then a rather nice set of lights above the backdrop. I rig them up first thing on Saturday morning, and await the choral rehearsals. There is nothing I hate more than those ruddy kids. Everytime I'm working on the lights, they are always playing about at the bottom of my ladder, wittering on about how cool it is that Mummy and Daddy organised it so they could be Brats in this play. So, I leave some wires unattached and a piece of the floorboard slightly loose. That'll teach them to mess with the BSLTFH!!

(to be continued, feel free to add your ideas as comments...)

This is based on the B*****d Operator From Hell, but specifically written for the Sound and Lighting technicians of the world. I've been out of the sound/light game for a while, but I do think that we could have some fun with this.
